<br />
Before I got to journaling, I had a slight problem with my Bible. I like tabs that make it easier to find the books quickly especially during sermons & studies. But the pages of my new <a href="http://hearthevoice.com/" target="_blank">The Voice Bible</a> are pretty thin & the tabs were crinkling the pages & tearing. The Voice Bible is the newest translation on the market. I really like it a lot. It's easy to understand & gives a fresh perspective on God's Word.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8nF3m_FO5B_kidOjNGprRNtWsLvuWPLYwvVota-0EyJW_DYnPkGQcaRtUXf4UleWs0rpmBWWONg3DVIct3coJFKk-IR8vUh53qkuZu_OtlqcvY5EVbjJjt9yPXolJp5cOx2rsmPKf-5s/s1600/Torn-Bible-Tabs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8nF3m_FO5B_kidOjNGprRNtWsLvuWPLYwvVota-0EyJW_DYnPkGQcaRtUXf4UleWs0rpmBWWONg3DVIct3coJFKk-IR8vUh53qkuZu_OtlqcvY5EVbjJjt9yPXolJp5cOx2rsmPKf-5s/s1600/Torn-Bible-Tabs.jpg" height="320" width="175" /></a></div>
<br />
So I got the idea to add washi tape to the edges to reinforce the tabs & add some color to my Bible. I understand this isn't an original idea, as I have met someone else who did this but it was original for me when I thought of it. It's lots of fun & adds color & personality to your Bible.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimrWlMDd_5pQCVZ6NUo4Co9dWAOXuNXwW1Li9wS-tNYvKG4Ixmg_c9AgYoxj4g30Qboez3_dBANq0pI3TT1baSTrAQ787bsTl4tEZQn8VBNYlndAkULMSoL_9Hi8C0Fx_klRBGN4Z3xhg/s1600/Washi-Tape-Bible-edges.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimrWlMDd_5pQCVZ6NUo4Co9dWAOXuNXwW1Li9wS-tNYvKG4Ixmg_c9AgYoxj4g30Qboez3_dBANq0pI3TT1baSTrAQ787bsTl4tEZQn8VBNYlndAkULMSoL_9Hi8C0Fx_klRBGN4Z3xhg/s1600/Washi-Tape-Bible-edges.jpg" height="320" width="139" /></a></div>
<br />
Then a few days ago, my SU! upline Connie Smith pointed me over to the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/675075232583189/?fref=nf" target="_blank">Facebook Bible Journaling</a> group & I asked to join. It's a closed group so you have to be invited or approved to join. Heaven!<br />
<br />
Many, many years ago, one of the art groups I was involved with had a discussion about doing Altered Art in a Bible. To say the discussion went to extremes & everywhere in between is an understatement. As much as I wanted to do an Altered Art Bible, I let general consensus say it wasn't right or cool. Lesson learned, if you are OK with it & it helps you draw closer to God, God is OK with it.<br />
<br />
I decided for now that I want to stick with my The Voice translation instead of a traditional journaling Bible. The smaller margins may prove challenging but I know I can also add in "pages" to enhance my journey.<br />
<br />
So here is my 1st foray into Bible Journaling. I used a Sharpie Pen & Staedtler Watercolor Pencils. Until my daughters wedding is over, I won't have a lot of time to Bible Journal, but I will enjoy working on it every chance I get. So as I read & am inspired by the Spirit about a truth, I will make note or start a sketch related to it so I can return to it & create a page related to the inspiration received.<br />

Doing art in your Bible is not for everyone. It's a personal choice & reflects your walk with God. We were all created to be unique by design. Embrace your uniqueness & the grace God speaks to your life.Angelartistokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00753098213388396324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606914969479420224.post-83549034235868349902014-09-14T16:29:00.001-05:002014-09-14T16:29:23.015-05:00Upcoming ClassesA quick post of my next 2 classes.<br />

What have I been up to? Well with my list of things to do growing longer with class designs, baby showers & wedding stuff, my studio as it was laid out was driving me crazy. It wasn't functioning well. My initial goal was to purge as much as possible & get my 2 rooms down to 1 room & actually have a guest space. 100 days to plan my daughter's wedding kind of put the clean out on the back burner for now. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So I spent the past 3-4 days trying to make my work space as functional as possible under the current circumstances. I was trying to utilize what I already own and I was still able to purge a little bit in the process. I am currently celebrating every square inch of space I free up & declutter. So it's not ideal but it will work for the next few months of intense project deadlines. And sorry, no before pictures.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-waKJwsnmonjV3JfcNjZz0djnUmLwYCtMgP3daB442R-7S7b3pED_DW1GGCVlbdA78Sf1N5QeZna4RUjK3EGoJjcBisgvXe6B97xMF1w_gNj26Lv9c41izehZXTrEMsq6RfIIJmX44Sc/s1600/Studio-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-waKJwsnmonjV3JfcNjZz0djnUmLwYCtMgP3daB442R-7S7b3pED_DW1GGCVlbdA78Sf1N5QeZna4RUjK3EGoJjcBisgvXe6B97xMF1w_gNj26Lv9c41izehZXTrEMsq6RfIIJmX44Sc/s1600/Studio-1.jpg" height="220" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I replaced my 6 ft table with a 5 ft table. Now I don't have to play suck in the tummy or don't stub the toes trying to move around. Where the sewing machine sits against the back against the wall, were 2 cabinets I successfully got rid of. They were in the worst shape with the backs falling off & wobble issues. I was able to move most of my punches in from the other room & place on top of the cubby under the window. If you notice, they sit in serving trays, works perfectly. That's my second Big Shot on top. I have 2 for classes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7ZwPEVdmiBUXNhGs50ZnWE1iv32GlEa8myQRvhbAhGHAO0TdyXJyYXw7-mLeeSRc_LQ7ggCW2CWleV9l-i0PcSXDpVF8v0NkXiHLGHJf0tmcZrOkWxVaTa4bHPvQ20ZCXmTVRzpOQl4/s1600/Studio-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7ZwPEVdmiBUXNhGs50ZnWE1iv32GlEa8myQRvhbAhGHAO0TdyXJyYXw7-mLeeSRc_LQ7ggCW2CWleV9l-i0PcSXDpVF8v0NkXiHLGHJf0tmcZrOkWxVaTa4bHPvQ20ZCXmTVRzpOQl4/s1600/Studio-2.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Across from my work table is my standing work station, I put the left section together earlier this year & added the right section a couple months ago. I successfully got it organized enough to bring in my Cricut from the other room, since I will be using it more for the upcoming project deadlines. My tools are lined up from the left side, Karl paper cutter, Score-it board, Big Shot, bit of work space & Cricut. The very far left corner is my scrap buckets sorted by color in file folders. I can grab pieces while cutting & designing without cutting new sheets of paper. May have to purge these some more, the folder you see on top far back corner is the patterned paper one & it's rather stuffed. Underneath that folder is the white & cream scraps. The basket behind the cutter is for scraps too small to use to put in the recycle bin rather than my regular trash. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There is still a lot to reorganize but I can create more comfortably now while working on my massive To Do list. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Off to get started on more projects.</div>

My knee took some extra healing time after surgery & I didn't take too well to the synvisc injections during July. However, I am happy to report that if not entirely pain free, I am again moving much better. Now on to crafty things.<br />
<br />
I set up a Facebook page <a href="http://www.facebook.com/lifeangeldesigns" style="background-color: white; color: #1155cc; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px;" target="_blank">www.facebook.com/<wbr></wbr>lifeangeldesigns</a><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px;"> </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">and am going to do my best to post here & link it to facebook too. I am teaching classes again to my friends & at my favorite scrapbook store which reopened <a href="http://www.wholelottascrap.com/" target="_blank">Whole Lotta Scrap</a>. Plus I plan on designing & creating more in general. I have been successful most of the past couple of months reserving about 3+ hours studio time each week. Yeah!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge7yutdkiSzSzIxA-IP71fGsr-6idPcXB_DZEZsfK2ew1g9NKzNMzJQx1ce12zKyXCLqgLME62zzLH-kh9B0wVO48YNRnUiknmYVfpyNcOG1QASVzEooCsAB-Hu9R1gyq8Z2EXHGzjxAA/s1600/ICAD-Practice-Week-Cards-1-.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge7yutdkiSzSzIxA-IP71fGsr-6idPcXB_DZEZsfK2ew1g9NKzNMzJQx1ce12zKyXCLqgLME62zzLH-kh9B0wVO48YNRnUiknmYVfpyNcOG1QASVzEooCsAB-Hu9R1gyq8Z2EXHGzjxAA/s1600/ICAD-Practice-Week-Cards-1-.jpg" height="311" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Part of the reason I have been creating more was the <a href="http://daisyyellowart.com/" target="_blank">Daisy Yellow</a> ICAD (index card a day) Challenge. During the months of June & July we were challenged to create 1 card a day for 61 days. This was my first year to try it & of course I turned it into a 100 day challenge. These are the 1st four cards I did. It's been a lot of fun & a great way to design in small scale & use leftover bits & pieces. I am on day 95.<br />
<br />
I also opted to try & read my Bible for 100 days & am working my way through the Psalms. Not on my computer or tablet or phone but actually pick up my Bible & turn pages & read. I am on day 77.<br />
<br />
So wish me luck in posting more. I may have to turn posting into a challenge too :0)<br />
<br />
Have a Fabulous Labor Day Weekend!<br />
<br />
We are off to visit the new <a href="http://chickasawculturalcenter.com/" target="_blank">Chickasaw Cultural Center</a> tomorrow.Angelartistokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00753098213388396324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606914969479420224.post-20323713447033178182014-05-23T01:02:00.000-05:002014-05-23T01:04:33.340-05:00Cards for Troops News<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Yep, I am actually posting. Been a crazy year so far, including a rotator cuff injury and knee surgery. However, life is good and full of blessings.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After careful prayer and consideration, I am officially retiring from event hosting for Cards for the Troops. Doesn't mean I won't still be making cards and a few select kits, just means I won't be taking it on the road anymore.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I hope you join me for our final Christmas in July Extravaganza on July 12th. Details on sidebar.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="font-size: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It takes a lot of hard work to put on these card making events, especially the design and production of kits that produce thousands of cards each year. Hauling a myriad of supplies out on location and back again is exhausting. Usually halfway through the year I am knee deep in items that haven't made it back to where they belong in my studio and desperately need re-organized. I am still pretty much a 1 woman show with assistance from a couple of good friends. I will be scaling down my participation in <a href="http://www.fromourhearts.info/" target="_blank">From Our Hearts</a> to a much smaller scale. I will be focusing on smaller card making projects and the occasional private event.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-size: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It is also time for me to focus on new ministry ventures and exploring a wider variety of art. A lot of my personal art has been sacrificed for the basic elegant card designs for the troops. It is time to stretch, grow and evolve my style again.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-size: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I wish to thank everyone who has supported these efforts for the past 5 years and for making Cards for Troops a huge success in the Norman OK area. Your gift of time to make cards, donations of supplies (both for card making and for our troops directly) and some $ for postage have been truly appreciated. You have truly blessed our service members.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 20px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Here is an excerpt from a thank-you received at <a href="http://www.fromourhearts.info/" target="_blank">From Our Hearts</a>, we have truly made a difference to our troops and their families.....</span></div>

<br />
<br />
Yep, I've been absent for awhile again. I let life get way too busy & was getting exhausted for sure.<br />
<br />
I have spent the past couple of weeks getting some extra rest soooo.....<br />
am ready to dive into 2014 at a slightly slower pace. I sincerely hope to have a more focused, less hectic year but you know the verse:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The mind of man plans his way,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">But the Lord directs his steps.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: right;">Proverbs 16:9 NASB</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: right;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So we will see where this year leads. I am seriously considering limiting Cards for Troops to just a handful of events or stepping away completely. It has been a fabulous, exhausting 4 1/2 year run with over 25,500 cards created or donated during that time. Ministry and charity work takes over your life and sometimes you need to re-evaluate the direction you're going.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am excited to start playing today with <a href="http://www.nathaliesstudio.com/cjs/creative-jumpstart-2014/" target="_blank">Creative Jumpstart 2014</a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It's always great to try new things and refresh your creativity. And on Jan. 24 & 25th I get to take classes with <a href="http://joannezsharpe.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Joanne Sharpe</a> at <a href="http://myheartsfancy.com/" target="_blank">My Hearts Fancy</a> in Oklahoma City, yeah!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I also have a new adventure in the works. <span style="color: #cc0000;">"Hide Thy Word"</span><span style="color: purple;"> </span>will kick off next Thursday Jan. 9th from 7 - 9 pm at Cornerstone Christian Church. We will be converting some of our favorite scripture/memory verses into scrapbook pages all year. You will be designing a beautiful book to share and display your favorite Bible verses. Cost of the classes are free and is great for anyone on a budget, as you will need minimal supplies. I will be sharing some of my stash with you at each meeting. The first class is an introduction to some approaches you can use to create your pages with samples, discussion of supply choices, some beginning creativity time and if we need an alternative day for those whose Thursdays are busy. So I hope to see you there! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Our Sassy Angels Stamp Club is full but I usually have room in my extra classes. So please feel free to contact me if a class is of interest to you.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I started a 10 cards for $10 class last fall. It was very popular with the Angels and they requested I develop more. You have to admit, it's really budget friendly. So we are kicking off January with a 12 cards for $10 class. A great way to build your card stash for the year. Now it won't always be 12 cards but I came up with a creative idea to make 12 budget friendly cards, so that's what we are creating. Class is January 27th from 6 pm - 8:30 pm with light nibbles served during class.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here are the examples of our last two 10 for $10 classes:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I often find these samples, CASE them and change them up a bit. The first card is slightly fancier than what we did in class. Everyone got to choose a color of ribbon and then we created the cards. The bottom set was our Christmas 10 for $10 and I switched it up a bit, they got to make 5 of each style. The ladies supply their own adhesive and bling, although I usually have some on hand just in case. Sample coming soon for the 12 for $10 class. Email me if you'd like more info.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope your New Year is filled with wonderful creativity and a multitude of blessings!</div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This card was so much fun to make. <a href="http://tayloredexpressions.com/" target="_blank">Taylored Expressions</a> is one of my favorite companies outside of my Stampin' Up! products. When they came out with these dies earlier this year, I decided to splurge and get them.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This was my daughter Christi's birthday card in April of this year. She has 2 kitty cats (my grandcats, LOL!), so the kitty on the window box was perfect.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I raided my scrap pile to make this card. Producing the number of cards I do for Cards for the Troops, I am literally swimming in scrap cardstock and scrapbook papers. Die cuts and punched shapes are the number one way I use up my scraps.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">These flowers are so small and I wanted a selection of them, so I literally ran the die through several colors of scraps and filled a small empty SU! embellishment container with the flowers and leaves. It took just minutes to have a variety of color choices for future cards. The curtains were a scrap of printed vellum.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The only current SU! colors on this card are Pacific Point, Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">TheTaylored Expressions dies used for this card are Picture Window, Flower Box Sprigs & Flowers, Window Accessories and Window Cat. These dies make it a breeze to create an elegant, beautiful card.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How about a challenge this week to make a card or scrapbook page using only scraps? You may of course use a full sheet to create the card or page base but try and see if you can do the rest of your design only with the scraps in your stash. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Have Fun Creating! </span>Angelartistokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00753098213388396324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606914969479420224.post-24874458717684189252013-10-09T00:20:00.001-05:002013-10-09T00:20:50.843-05:00Stamp Club Fun<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With a request to use the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and Framelits from my August hostess and dear friend Cathy</span>, the color combo I came across earlier for <a href="http://www.palspaperarts.com/2013/08/ppa167-sweet-color-combination.html" target="_blank">the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge #167 </a>and finding the instructions for the little tote box at <a href="http://craftyhallett.wordpress.com/2013/07/18/boxes-bows-and-bags/" target="_blank">Crafty Hallet, </a>I had a great time designing this set for club.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We made our own patterned designer paper for this project with the Festive Flurry stamps and the Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding color combo. Two fun Christmas cards and a little gift tote and our holiday crafting has begun.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My new Thinlit Card Dies had just arrived off the UPS truck, so I had to use one of them in the design. My first Circle Card Thinlet did not work real well with my Big Shot and was not quite as successful for our club project as I would have liked. True to their good customer service, Stampin' Up! sent out a replacement. There are not too many companies anymore that stand behind their products like SU! does. Their products are wonderful and the service for my customers or myself is fabulous. I just received my 5 year pin and hope to have many more years as a demo to come.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Products used include, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding inks and cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Festive Flurry Stamp set and matching Framelits, Circle Card Thinlet Die set, Very Merry Tags stamp set, 7/8" & 1 1/4" scallop circle punches & 1/8" silver ribbon.</span>Angelartistokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00753098213388396324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606914969479420224.post-86153905025780609982013-10-06T16:20:00.001-05:002013-10-06T16:20:13.310-05:00Busy is an Understatement!<div style="text-align: left;">

Similar but different from the one posted earlier for Natalie.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBZgUHkCRYO9E5wiw9flLFkFYKxRMPLkhGS7jf4oRtSPM5gjwJPJ1kVqaWnaFYmhISKsXqb0RNiF_8_zp1JqRCDfJzPEq-M-oL3rRYCeyb8b69UOuvGiry13vLIw_CoTjTjHjPj2acpvg/s400/Margarets-Card.jpg" width="360" /> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Between my Stampin' Up! and a few other companies, I am amassing a large collection of dies and punches. They are so much fun to work with. And if you stay tuned, Stampin' Up! is coming out with some new ones soon in the new catalog. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This doily reminds me of a cathedral window. Just beautiful. I used Tempting Turquoise and the retired Lavender lace along with a metallic paper in a softer purple color. Wonderful color combo. Yes, I still have some retired colors hanging around. Great for Cards for the Troops, baby books and matching other paper designs. I also used SU! bling, it's the best because it sparkles like real jewels.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The sentiment is from the Cuddles and Kisses stamp set. </span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The second weekend in March was Margaret's Baby Shower. Babies are always fun and I love baby shopping so had a blast putting this together with Lori at church. You got to see the owl a few posts back. Here's the rest of the fun.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This banner was made by my friend Laura. She is wonderfully creative and the details on this banner are fabulous. Thanks Laura! Margaret loved it.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is a close-up of the table decor. I made the diaper cake, owl and diaper flower arrangements. Just in case you are wondering, the wreath, cake, owl and flower arrangements took 4 packages of size 1 diapers. Lori did the centerpiece. I wish I had gotten a close-up of the diaper cake. The base is an adorable tutu Laura's friend creates for babies </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">A wide shot of the decor. Laura also passed down the stroller and carseat for Margaret. My friend Christy gifted us with several decor and party items from her daughter-in-law's shower to help us put this shower together. Such a blessing for a new momma and I am blessed to have such wonderful friends. Thanks!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Let's see if we can get back to blogging again. It's been a very busy 2 months, classes, baby shower and helping my daughter open her new salon. Whew! Barely had time to breathe let alone create.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first weekend in March I got to take classes with the incredible Donna Downey. This is the 2nd year that I was able to take her classes right here in Oklahoma at My Heart's Fancy. Sometimes you need to step out of the normal routines in your artwork and try new things or switch gears and work in a different medium.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbuf_pOgVzJ7EQB43zxIlLziRtM-yOt4ENeF2-TqGY0jQL84fTUjYa4I5iQLydD_yH76HUlE5tAj2W68vo5JSE1SGhBb5iec1cEr527YPjLEjBUW7uoI-FSIGFHjC1DUen3EOHOAJoLfs/s320/Donna-Downey-Class-1.jpg" width="237" /><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first class was working in acrylics with stencil layering and lasted for 5 hours. The bad part for me is the ortho doc decided to put a steroid shot in my right elbow that Friday morning for tendonitis after my test results came back. And I'm right handed so not good, but I still managed to create this beautiful 16 x 20 canvas.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This second canvas was created Saturday morning after a not so restful night with a painful elbow. But I love it, the bright colors are definitely me. We worked with Gelato's, stencils, Pitt Big markers, tags, washi tape and ephemera. Lots of fun.</span> </div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> This final class Saturday afternoon was it for the elbow. We were supposed to create three 12 x 12 pastel boards and I did just one. We were pouncing Pan Pastels and the elbow wasn't too thrilled with that movement. I always struggle with landscape and portrait type pieces. I am much more comfortable with the first 2 classes I took but, again, it is good to stretch outside your comfort zone once in awhile. My daughter says these look like "Lorax" trees.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> This was an early birthday present for me and despite the elbow, I got to spend the whole weekend creating art and chilling out in my hotel room. A little "me" break. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Stay tuned. More posts are on the way.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For the third set in my Sale-a-bration Equation Class<span style="font-size: small;">, we made <span style="font-size: small;">'Z' Fold cards. The ladies were delighted with the different twist<span style="font-size: small;"> on the design. The <span style="font-size: small;">Razzleb<span style="font-size: small;">erry card is a partial case <span style="font-size: small;">from Pinterest. <span style="font-size: small;">I really liked the teacup and <span style="font-size: small;">Thank-you ban<span style="font-size: small;">ner together <span style="font-size: small;">on the ca<span style="font-size: small;">rd I saw so moved them to my design. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Sale-a-bration Equation c<span style="font-size: small;">lass was wonderfully received<span style="font-size: small;">. Here is a look at the second set of cards from class. </span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">I continued the theme of lots of embossing and <span style="font-size: small;">dimensional<span style="font-size: small;">s to add texture and depth.</span></span> </span>Both cards were fairly simple in design<span style="font-size: small;"> and<span style="font-size: small;"> pret<span style="font-size: small;">ty straight forward.</span></span></span></span></span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Stay tuned over the next couple of days for the next sets of cards.</span></span>Angelartistokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00753098213388396324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606914969479420224.post-82498265299054026762013-02-22T00:08:00.001-06:002013-02-22T00:08:33.163-06:00Sale-a-bration Equation Card Class Sneak Peek<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD9rz1BoLB4iRbFLkmb68TUgbXHDtpAEbQImN1AnTNGb7uY0BxCVK-BRFdgrRSt8vSkur0QDwBldV180MCVK6fn89IOG4TVJoQqQBTv8iYIpLUUcqI0D1PtWK7Hlc30scIpRpzIHHMkUw/s1600/Sale-a-bration-Equation-Car.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD9rz1BoLB4iRbFLkmb68TUgbXHDtpAEbQImN1AnTNGb7uY0BxCVK-BRFdgrRSt8vSkur0QDwBldV180MCVK6fn89IOG4TVJoQqQBTv8iYIpLUUcqI0D1PtWK7Hlc30scIpRpzIHHMkUw/s320/Sale-a-bration-Equation-Car.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I planned a last minute card class for this month just for fun and these are the first 2 cards. Since the Sale-a-bration brochure has so many neat items this year, I decided it was a chance to have an inexpensive card class for my group of ladies.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">They will be making 8 cards for $10 this Sunday.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The first card is a modification CASE from a card I saw on Pinterest. There was no watermark on the sample I saw. If it was your card let me know so I can credit where I found the idea. I of course had to change it up a bit. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The second card is my design. I have seen a lot of textured layering so I am incorporating it into the card designs as much as possible for this class.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek. </span><br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjve3HJtwaJ3kSjr5ogkGGlxQQojbbSpUoq3g0vPQJcFxDXJ5rricSF22Y7-IZaAjMnLoKy009M6vMZ0Dm8kf4uNYp2YPkWX2yV-MKgra1Qnso6KOJkOR0wmKmzc_zpPmsnmn2sjjeSk7M/s1600/Baby-Card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjve3HJtwaJ3kSjr5ogkGGlxQQojbbSpUoq3g0vPQJcFxDXJ5rricSF22Y7-IZaAjMnLoKy009M6vMZ0Dm8kf4uNYp2YPkWX2yV-MKgra1Qnso6KOJkOR0wmKmzc_zpPmsnmn2sjjeSk7M/s320/Baby-Card.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I really enjoyed making this card for baby Gryffyn's baby shower. It came out beautiful and elegant just as planned :0)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I used Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette cardstock, Melon Mambo ink, Paper Doily Sizzlit, 2 1/2 inch circle, large oval and scallop oval punches, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and a butterfly die set from another company.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I also used a retired stamp set called Little Angel.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you have the Paper Doily die and have a bit of trouble with it, I use an extra piece of cardstock in my stack and it helps make the little pieces pop out easier and cleaner. So I use my platform, add a piece of cardstock on top, a cutting plate, my die, the cardstock I am cutting and then the top cutting plate. It might make running through your machine a bit tight, I just go slow and steady. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hope your day is Blessed! </span><br />

They help me with Cards for the Troops and I hope over time I have been a great friend to them too. My friend Christy sent me an email a couple weeks ago about a custom built shelving unit in her husband's office they no longer needed. She didn't want it and wondered if it would help me with my organization project. I wasn't sure it would fit but didn't want to turn down such a gift for free. After a bit of measuring I said yes.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It's solid oak and has 45 slots to hold 12 x 12 paper. I am busy filling it up. One side will hold my Stampin' Up! 12 x 12, the other side my other solids and specialty 12 x 12 and the middle matching paper sets and pads. The top will house some of my Cards for Troops supplies. It was pretty grimy and dusty but cleaned up pretty good.</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">An unexpected and treasured blessing indeed :0) </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">How have you been blessed lately?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Enjoy today's blessings! </span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have been helping my friend Christy with the baby shower for her first grandbaby. She found this adorable Owl Diaper critter online and I helped her re-create 7 of them for the centerpieces on the tables. In this photo the ones behind are waiting for ears, we ran out of washcloths. </span><br />

<br />
We had Stamp Club last week and a Cards for Troops yesterday. I will try and get some pictures of the cards to post in the next couple of days. I hope to be working on some new designs soon. My goal is to post once or twice a week this year. I may even try some blog candy later since I have found a couple duplicates of stamps. Hmm..... must have really liked them.<br />
<br />
I am continuing my purge/clean/organize project so who knows what I may decide needs a new home. My daughter is helping me and we started in the kitchen last week. We cleaned the cabinets with Murphy's Wood Oil Soap, moved the fridge and cleaned and dusted behind and under it and wiped down the exterior of all the appliances and counters. Tomorrow we start on the disaster room. It partially houses the Cards for Troops materials, some other art supplies and the exercise equipment. It is buried as it's become the catch-all the past few months, you can barely walk through it. It will take probably the better part of a week to unearth, sort, purge and organize again.<br />
<br />
Blessings come daily in small and big ways. I am thankful my bug wasn't the flu. Hubby installed a new kitchen sink, faucet and water purification system this weekend. The first Cards for the Troops was fabulous and I try to find some way to be kind each day and share.<br />
<br />
Hope your week is fabulous!Angelartistokhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00753098213388396324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3606914969479420224.post-87587201041283583852013-01-06T23:14:00.000-06:002013-01-06T23:14:27.921-06:002013's Word<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have never participated in the <a href="http://aliedwards.com/blog/one-little-word" target="_blank">One Little Word</a> project before but a few days ago it resonated. I wanted a word that would celebrate giving and receiving, art and life. My word for 2013 is <span style="color: #e06666;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Blessings</span></span></span></span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">and I believe it was further confirmed in the pastor's message this morning when he paraphrased Genesis 12:2 "You have been blessed so that you may be a blessing to others." I think that will become my quote for the year too. AngelArtist came about because I love to encourage and surprise others, many have said I've been their "angel" so I paired it with artist for my love of creating and added OK at the end for the state of Oklahoma my residence. So I hope to be a blessing in 2013 as well as discover everyday blessings along the way.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I sat down in the wee hours of Saturday morning and wrote out the following to guide my year.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings in the Word of God and with fellow believers</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings in His Creation, the beauty of nature, animals, life</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings in sharing His love and care</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings in serving, giving and receiving</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings of family, friends and furbabies</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings even with trials, heartache and pain</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings in the gifts and talents of encouragement, art and more</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Blessings are everywhere if I remain aware</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Open my eyes to Blessings each day</span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Instead of resolutions, I have chosen IDEALS for the year:</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Inspired</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Delivered</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Encouragement</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">And</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Love</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Shared</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">So this second week of January begins my<span style="font-size: small;"> B<span style="font-size: small;">LESSINGS and IDEALS journey through 201<span style="font-size: small;">3.</span></span></span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">I am also doin<span style="font-size: small;">g the <a href="http://pinchthisstretchthat.com/get-started-52-week-savings-challenge/" target="_blank">52 Week Challenge</a> of putting money away each week based on the<span style="font-size: small;"> </span>week's number of the year. 1st week <span style="font-size: small;">= $1 2nd week = <span style="font-size: small;">$2 and on through the year. </span></span>If you are successful you will have saved $1378 by the end of the year<span style="font-size: small;"> and in this uncertain economy any savings is better than n<span style="font-size: small;">one. And <span style="font-size: small;">who <span style="font-size: small;">knows where it might be a<span style="font-size: small;"> blessing to someone if needed.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">Hope your week is fabulous!</span> </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span> <br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></span><br />
<br />

Starting up Stamp Club again last August was refreshing for me and challenging too and I like challenges. We had a successful Christmas Card Class in October and I had the best time designing the cards. A couple were cased with twists of course. I focused on using the new mini stack Festival Prints DSP in the SU! Holiday Catalog. It was so successful</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">that everyone is asking me to design a new class with the mini stack Print Poetry DSP in the new Spring Catalog.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So without further ado, here are the cards from my October Class, look for new designs coming soon.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Of course I had to go back and redo the mitten cards above and add a loop to the string after one of my customers in class did that. It was the last set I designed and I was under a time crunch so I didn't loop them. It's the little details that make a difference sometimes. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As you can see this was a Big Shot intensive class.</span><br />

Sigh. Sometimes life is quite a ride. However each day is a new begin<span style="font-size: small;">ning<span style="font-size: small;"> and a chance to try again. So to go along with all my New Yea<span style="font-size: small;">r organizing, studio time and every day activities comes the chance to bl<span style="font-size: small;">og ag<span style="font-size: small;">ain. So hopefully you'll get the chance to see some creations from 2012 <span style="font-size: small;">as well as my new wo<span style="font-size: small;">rk in this <span style="font-size: small;">New Year.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">2013 is the year of the Black Water Snake so my challenge will be to design a new card to celebrate this year's Chinese New Year. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I am hoping to create lots of cards, mini books and oriental style art, as well as branching out into more art journaling and canvas work. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with promise and hope!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Many Blessings!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">OK I am in an 2012 Online Challenge Class to create something everyday in January. It's to help encourage us to make time to create everyday. Making it more of a priority. I don't promise to post everyday but I'll post a couple of updates each week for sure. It will help keep me accountable. So today's card is made from bits & pieces left over from other projects.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I dug through some of them and made this card. Very quick and simple. Stamp is from Sincere Salutations.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
An update on the organization project. I started on the main art room. Got all the 11 x 8 1/2 paper back in it's proper places. Got one shelving unit tidied up, finished up and sent off the last 2 boxes for Cards for the Troops for 2011, starting gathering up stamps to re-sort and put in their proper places. My calendars are up to date, took care of some art administrative stuff and worked on a surprise for my boss Leslie. If you happen to wander into a Whole Lotta Scrap, check out the new decor in the ladies room. My co-worker Jamie came up with the idea and I executed it. Leslie loved it. The bathroom is sporting a new paint job and pretty new decor. Not bad for a weeks work.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
I challenge you to get in as much creative time as possible this new year too.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Happy New Year!</span><br />
